Vždycky existuje druhá cesta. Tony Stark vylepšil své tělo pomocí kovu... a teď stojí proti člověku, který si vylepšil přímo tělo. Čeká nás boj kovu proti masu. A v tomhle případě má maso silně navrch.

Když chce Marvel znovu rozjet nějakou řadu, obvykle ji svěří nějaké výrazné osobnosti, člověku, který klasické komiksy zrovna moc nedělá a který se dokáže na zažitou sérii podívat úplně jinak a vnést do ní nové nápady. Mezi tyto tvůrce patří třeba Kevin Smith, Grant Morrison, Orson Scott Card, Joss Whedon či Garth Ennis. I do restartu Muže v oceli se pustila legenda, tvůrce spíše temných komiksů (Fell, Transmetropolitan) a ještě temnějších románů (Americkej sen) Warren Ellis. Vrátil se do minulosti Iron Mana, oprášil jeho podstatu a vyslal vstříc nelítostné budoucnosti. V komiksu Extremis se mixují klasické ellisovské úvahy o technice s opravdu extrémními bitkami (v precizní malbě Adi Granova).
